When I took up the mantle of my father, Francis Rush, I made a promise to always provide our customers with the same excellent service that they have always received since 1950.
Back in the 50's my father started our family business as a cartage company with just one Chevrolet pick up truck. With his wife Emma at his side they worked tirelessly, hauling freight, doing local moves accoss the island and raising five children.
Francis was quite passionate about his business, but he was also a devoted family man. I recall he would often say "We are a family moving families" and it is a statement that could not be truer! He had a wonderful soft spot for animals as well and especially for Shiz Tzu dogs. It was this personal touch that made his customers feel like family.
Hard work paid off and Francis Rush Moving became first an agent of Atlas Van Lines in 1970 and then North American Van Lines in 1977. This meant that we could then accommodate Long Distance and International moves. It also meant that long distance or overseas moves were (and still are) insurable and completely worry-free.
Francis handled everyone's move with care and would personally check in with all of the long distance truck drivers loading and unloading on PEI. He truly went out of his way to make sure that our customers were happy with their moves.
This was the exciting time that I began working in the business alongside my father and I have been there ever since 1978. When Francis passed away in 1999 I took over the business. To my delight, my brother Mike joined me in 2000 and now we both work hard to uphold our father's legacy.
Our fleet of trucks is complete with four straight trucks and a cube van and our total move count is half a million and counting! Although we have grown, we still have not overlooked the caring values instilled in this company from the beginning. To the other side of town or the other side of the world our family will get your family there!
